The word ‘library’ is rich in tradition, meaning & usage. The school library provides information inculcates ideas & develops knowledge that is so essential to functioning successfully in today’s information & knowledge based society. Libraries help in developing creative thinking & imagination & enabling them to live as ideal & responsible citizens. Thus the school library has to serve as a resource centre.


SERVICES: (Readers)

  • Allotting Library Periods- Library periods are allotted from class I to X once in a week. Students of class XI & XII can access the library in their light periods or during break time.
  • Circulation –Issue return of a book is the most important activity of the school library. All the members are given one Reader’s Ticket and they can issue books in their allotted lib periods for one week. Books are issued to the students from class IV onwards. There are approx 8000 books in the school library.
  • Reference ServiceProviding ‘Reference Service’ is the most important aspect of reader’s services in a library. It requires the backing of a solid & sound collection of reference books.
  • Press Clipping Service- News papers are the most important source of latest information. Relevant cuttings of articles, school news editorial, etc are preserved for future reference in the library.
  • Serials Control- Magazines & News papers are also one of the most important source of information & knowledge. In the beginning of the new session all the prescribed periodicals are renewed for one year. School library subscribes 20 magazines & 4 News Papers.
  • Multimedia Material: Library supports multimedia resources for students as well as teachers. Ample number of CDs for each class & each subject are available in the library. Approx 500 CDs are there in library stock.
  • Bound Volumes of Magazines: Magazines are assets of the library so all the Science & General Knowledge magazines are preserved in bound volume.



  • Book Fair: Book Fairs have a great role in promoting the reading habit among people of all age groups. Scholastics book Fair is playing a pivotal role in reiterating the might of the pen and the printed word and has come to be recognized as the biggest annual cultural event and book bonanza keenly waited by students, teachers & parents. Keeping this in view every year book fair is organised in the school during first PTM.
  • Book Club: Scholastics Book club is one more unique programme aimed at inculcating healthy reading habits in children and supplementing the efforts of school authorities in creating favourable reading environment in schools. This is possible, we believe, with the active participation of teachers & parents in the selection of books & encouragement in the reading process.
  • Primary Plus: Primary Plus is a revolutionary educational fortnightly newspaper meant to inculcate reading habit among children and to add that extra spark to your child’s learning experience. Primary Plus challenges students to think productively while simultaneously developing their thinking, reading & self confidence skills. This newspaper is subscribed by many students of class Nursery – VIII.
